SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa and the State of Minnesota are partnering to provide a PAID orientation to Minnesota caregivers. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been doing it for years, sign up today for a 3-hour, online Home Care Orientation and you will:

Receive a $100 stipend for completing orientation
Completing Orientation also qualifies all CFSS and PCA Choice caregivers for a $0.40 wage floor increase starting January 1, 2027, more than $800 per year for full-time worker.

**Participation and Stipend Eligibility**

By registering and attending Orientation, you acknowledge that eligibility for a stipend payment is contingent on your having worked and been paid as a caregiver for a covered program, as defined in the collective bargaining agreement between the State of Minnesota and SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and Iowa, during the last six months, completion of the session, and completion of online stipend paperwork.

Orientation participants are expected to treat other caregivers and facilitators with respect. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, or miss more than 15 minutes of the instruction, you will not be marked as completed and will need to reschedule.

**Orientation Incentive Drawing Details**

One prize of $300 and five prizes of $100 will be awarded by random drawing. Direct Support Workers who provide services through a covered program to Minnesota residents and who complete orientation prior to November 1, 2026 will be automatically entered into the drawing. Direct Support Workers who provide services through a covered program to Minnesota residents who do not wish to complete orientation may enter using the free alternative entry form available here. Alternative entries will be included in the same drawing with the same chance of winning as entries received through orientation completion. Individuals may receive only one prize per calendar year.

The drawing will be held on November 4, 2026. The winner will be notified by email within 5 business days of the drawing. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

The following persons are not eligible to enter or win: Trustees of the Minnesota Home Care Orientation Trust; officers, employees, and agents of the Trust; employees and representatives of the State of Minnesota, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa, and the Health Career Advancement Program; vendors and service providers to the Trust; and immediate family members (spouse, domestic partner, parents, children, and siblings) of any of the foregoing.

The prize is taxable income to the winner. Winners are responsible for reporting prize income on their personal tax returns. Winners must complete a prize claim form within 14 days of notification; failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the prize. The prize is taxable income to the winner.
